Our Story

Meet Naomi.

A former features journalist and English teacher, who is passionate about all the ways we can share stories. She is wild about picture books, and ran out of shelf space long ago.

She loves it when students come up with something new and blow their own minds!

Teaching for creativity... our happy place.

We met for the first time as Creative Practitioners on the Creative Schools program, run by FORM in Perth, Western Australia. We partner up with brave (and nervous) teachers each week over two terms so we can work side by side with them in the classroom and watch the benefits of creative thinking and doing for students of all ages. We love it!

Meet Shona.

A reformed early childhood and special needs teacher who just couldn't stay away. After a hiatus to head back to uni and become a visual artist she is back in the education space to bring both worlds together.

What's Our Why?

When we met again it was in a different sort of classroom.

We had both decided to take our obsession with creativity to a deeper level and study with the powerhouse, Mathilda Joubert (Google her, she’s amazing!). A semester later we had bonded over exciting research and mildly embarrassing group activities and we knew we had to do something PURPOSEFUL with what we were learning.

Her mission? To prove that creativity benefits everyone; inside of the art gallery and out!

So here we are. Many cups of tea and many, many hours of learning, listening and reading later.

We've put our creative approach into practice and seen wonderful shifts in thinking for teachers and students.

But along the way we've also met with many disheartened and burnt out educators who need something to change before they check out of teaching for good. We want to be a place where they can come to find hope by injecting creative thinking into their teaching practice and start to love what they do again.

Take our online courses so you can learn all about teaching for creativity in your own space at your own pace.

Read our blog and follow us as we experiment with innovative teaching and learning in two very different learning spaces.

Talk to us about how we can help you in person or online to tweak your practice and get the buzz and excitement of learning back in the room.
